Modern Spaces — the premiere real estate firm for LIC luxury apartments — places great value on their ability to be in touch with the community they serve; to be able to communicate with, and understand the needs of, each of their clients. And so, in return, we thought it was a good idea to get to know some of the Modern Spaces team better. Here, we meet Sophia Park, a sales director with 15 years of experience, and under whose management The Metropolis on 150 East 44th Street, NYC was selected as one of the top-rated properties from ApartmentRatings.com in 2017.
Always Looking for New Challenges
Born in Seoul, Sophia later moved to Toronto, where she earned a degree in fashion management. Always looking for new challenges, it was while in Canada that Sophia saw an opportunity, and grabbed it with both hands: “I had an amazing chance to be involved in a new uber-luxury condominium development in the Toronto neighborhood of Yorkville. From the outset, I was intrigued with all aspects of the project — from the design and architecture of the building to the sales and marketing.” From that moment, Sophia worked on creating a thriving business within the Toronto real estate market, realizing after a while that she wanted to go even bigger. “I made the decision to take it to the next level of success by making the move to the New York real estate scene.”
What Makes Modern Spaces Something Special?
As someone who has always looked ahead to the next step, what is it that makes Sophia so content working for Modern Spaces? “It is truly unique — a one-of-a-kind brokerage firm that welcomes innovative ideas and lets the agents shine,” she explains. “The culture is inclusive, modern, and inviting, allowing for collaboration among everyone to create the best experiences for our customers.” Indeed, Sophia’s favorite aspect of her role at the firm is meeting people and helping them achieve their goals for buying and selling luxury apartments and condos. “I love my many interactions with people from all over the world and learning about their cultures, which I find extraordinarily enriching and enlightening,” she says.
Some Advice From the Expert
If Sophia could give one piece of advice to people looking to rent or buy, what would it be? “Find an agent you feel comfortable working with to guide you in the right direction toward your goals,” she explains. “You will end up saving money and time, and enjoy a smoother process.” As a sincere, hardworking, and competent sales director, Sophia may well be the agent you’re looking for! Right now, she recommends The Farrington in her home area of Flushing, Queens. These Raymond Chan-designed condos ooze with class: a stunning glass and dark wood exterior. Amenities include a rooftop terrace outfitted with barbecue grills and a state-of-the-art fitness center. “Flushing is a constantly growing and expanding neighborhood with great cultural diversity, transportation, and international cuisine,” says Sophia. You get the impression it might be a while before she moves anywhere else.
