The Faces of Modern Spaces: Ricardo Rodriguez

Sep 14, 2018

There are plenty of reasons to love Long Island City, but it was the waterfront parks, robust arts scene, and sparkling views of the Manhattan skyline that first charmed real estate salesperson Ricardo Rodriguez.

Ricardo’s upbeat disposition, active involvement with the community, and extensive knowledge of the neighborhood make him uniquely suited to assist you on your real estate hunt.

Read on to learn why Ricardo is so passionate about his work, what he thinks about Long Island City, and why he thinks Modern Spaces is a cut above the rest when it comes to LIC and Astoria real estate.

Why did you become a real estate agent?

I became a real estate agent because I’ve always had a love for buildings and the process it takes to complete them. When I was an electrician, I would see developers and marketing teams walk through the site wearing white hard hats and suits, while I worked extremely hard to get the job done. I had a vision that one day, I’d be in their shoes and become my own boss.

What neighborhood do you specialize in, and what makes it such a special place to live?

I specialize in LIC and Downtown Brooklyn. Both places are special. They have some things in common, such as the beautiful waterfront parks and gorgeous views of Manhattan, but they’re unique, too. LIC is very artsy and family oriented, while Downtown Brooklyn is diverse and lively, almost as if it were the “Midtown” of Brooklyn.

What makes Modern Spaces unique as a brokerage, as far as its culture, services, and its approach to real estate?

Modern Spaces is unique in that it’s like a family. We all assist each other when needed, which in turn helps the company overall. We also have fun. The fact that we’re all very active within the communities where we work brings us closer to our present and future clients, as well.

What advice would you give to someone looking to rent or buy an apartment?

My advice would be to make sure you work with someone who fully understands the real estate market where you’re looking to move. Make a list of all the things that are important for you to have in your new place. Once you see a home that checks off most or all of those things, then you’ve found the right one. The process can be stressful at times, so working with the right person is key.

What is your favorite part of your job?

As a person who is both upbeat and down-to-earth, I’d say that my favorite part of my career is the fact that I get to interact with new and interesting people, from all walks of life, on a daily basis.
