2018 has been a phenomenal year for condos in Long Island City. Just a few months ago, developers were offering buyers sweet incentives, thanks to a drop in demand just as many residences were coming onto the market. Now, with the news that Amazon’s HQ2 will be moving to the neighborhood, Realtor.com is reporting that brokers like Modern Spaces CEO Eric Benaim are fielding calls from those same developers telling them that they want to raise prices again. Benaim expects LIC to become the new Silicon Valley, meaning that buyers and investors should act now if they want to get in on the ground floor in Amazon’s new neighborhood.
